"You can tell the teacher enjoys what she does, knows her music and above all enjoys working with children and parents. I admire the way she actively engages all the children regardless of their abilities or personality type."

--Mary Golden-Hughes, parent

Young Artists Music Studio is an interactive program designed to teach and engage children in their interests and appreciation of music. Classes are singing-based and use classical and folk music from around the world. Fundamental elements of each class include:

  • Singing and speaking
  • Moving to music
  • Refined listening
  • Identifying and playing instruments
  • Pitch and rhythm matching
  • Dramatic Play
  • Group and partner music games
  • Parent-child interaction
  • Reading and writing music (later stages)
A variety of instruments (drums, bells, sticks, egg shakers, tambourines, triangles, wood block, guiro, maracas, shakers, piano) and accessories (scarves, hoops, balls, puppets, dolls, toys) bring songs and games alive for children. Families leave classes invigorated, happy, ... and singing!

Classes are offered in Harrisonburg, VA.
